I ’Klimakæmperne’ rejser vi med to karismatiske danske klimaforskere til Grønlands indlandsis. Her skal vi med forskerparret, Dorthe Dahl-Jensen og Jørgen Peder Steffensen 2,5 km ned i isen og dermed 100.000 år tilbage i tiden for at finde svar, som vi kan bruge i nutiden. Parret nyder stor international anerkendelse og arbejder på at forudsige fremtidens klima ved at bore iskerner i Grønland. En teknologi, som Danmark er førende i og en vigtig hjørnesten i FN’s klimapanels rapporter og forudsigelser.
